Grid-Pg-Initial-Clean-334x233While you may have a good janitorial staff that empties the trash cans in your data center, odds are they aren’t qualified to maintain and clean your server racks to the level that’s necessary. Many parts of your data center will need yearly cleaning while others should be checked and cleaned on a quarterly basis. We’re talking about cleaning the floors, walls, ceilings, lights, server racks, UPS, and interior of racks. Checking for dust and harmful particles, cleaning up cabling that’s reducing airflow, etc. If you aren’t the cleanest of techs, consider hiring a cleaning service specifically geared towards the technology field. Find a business that is part of the Association of Data Center Cleaning Professionals, check their scope of work and spot check their work. It’s important to find a group that is certified as providing access to your equipment and data center always increases some risk.

Rackmount Solutions isn’t known for cleaning data centers, but we want you to know that we can certainly try and help you find a trusted group. When you have a question, we want to help provide the answer. Try calling 1-800-352-6631 or completing our contact form below.
